General Questions about our practice:

Q. Why should I select Dr. Edwin Ishoo for my cosmetic treatment?

A. Dr. Edwin Ishoo is highly trained in both skin care and body contouring, and has received extensive specialized training and certification. His focus on the full body and your overall aesthetic results – from skin to deep tissues – sets him apart from many other cosmetic surgeons. He is a board-certified surgeon specializing in facial, body contouring, and rejuvenation techniques, and has completed subspecialty residency and a fellowship. He is a Fellow of the prestigious American College of Surgeons as well as the member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. Dr. Ishoo perfoms a number of procedures every week to maintain his skill and has a wealth of experience performing hundreds of facial, body, and rejuvenation procedures. In addition, Dr. Ishoo carefully listens to each patients’ unique wishes, personalizes each treatment given those goals, and strives to deliver natural-looking cosmetic results for everyone.

Q. What happens during my consultation?

A. The Facial Sculpting and Rejuvenation Consultation is a key part of your decision making process. Plan on spending around one hour meeting with Dr. Ishoo and his staff. Prior to the consultation, you will be asked to fill out a detailed medical history form and provide information that helps Boston Skin Essentials determine your options and assess if you are a good candidate for the procedure. He will also review your past cosmetic experience, current medical status, and any medications you are taking. During the meeting each procedure will be reviewed in detail, including alternative options and various technologies. Every client is encouraged to ask questions and address concerns.

Dr. Ishoo and a Patient Coordinator will examine you and, based on the examination, recommendations will be made on the best options for you. After the examination, the Patient Coordinator will show you before-and-after photos from our own Center that demonstrate reasonable results for laser hair removal, facial sculpting, skin care treatments, and body contouring. You will recieve a final quote of fees for your procedure, review financing options, and cover details regarding scheduling. You can choose to schedule your procedure after the consultation or call us later, once you’ve had a chance to further consider your options. Our goal is to provide the information you need to comfortably make a decision, and to ensure all of your questions are answered we’ll share any other information you require.

Q. Where are procedures performed?

A. We maintain two facilities in Brookline, Massachusetts, and Marshfield, Massachusetts. Most of our facial contouring and facial rejuvenation procedures are performed in Brookline and the majority of our body contouring procedures occur in Marshfield, however, some treatments can be accomodated in either location. Whichever location you visit, we always maintain the highest levels of focused care, client safety, and ideal results.

Q. How should I request my medical records?

Under Massachusetts Law MGL c. 111,S.70, every patient is entitled to a copy of their medical records. If you would like to obtain a copy of your medical records from Boston Skin Essentials, then please complete and sign the request for medical records form. Send the signed and completed form to our office by fax, an email attachment or by mail. There is a cost of $50 per each request and it is due at the time the request is made.
